Ashley Tisdale is yet another teen goddess made famous by the mighty Disney Corporation.
She was born July 2, 1985 in New Jersey, she was discovered by her current manager, Bill Perlman at a suburban mall when she was 3. Interestingly, her maternal grandfather is the inventor of Ginsu Knives, Arnold Morris. She was cast in over 100 commercials by the time she turned eight when she was cast in the Broadway musical megahit Les Misérables and went onto complete an international tour of Annie.
Her television career started out in the late 1990s with a string of guest appearances on shows such as Grounded for Life, 7th Heaven, Strong Medicine, Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210. In 2005 Disney came calling with its The Suite Life of Zack and Cody which led to the first installment of High School Musical. High School Musical 2 followed and a star was born. She’s been seen on various Disney vehicles since then as well as the third installment in the High School Musical franchise, and two episodes of MTV’s Punk’d.
Tisdale’s debut solo album entitled Headstrong and distributed by Warner Bros. Records with worldwide sales close to the million mark. She is looking forward to recording a follow up album but wants to focus her time and attention on the upcoming High School Musical 3.
On a personal note, Tisdale made a splash in the gossip outlets for her rhinoplasty that was performed for ‘health reasons’ not because she needed plastic surgery on her nose.
