Nicole Scherzinger

Singer

Date of Birth: 1978-06-29, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
Height: 5' 5" (1.65 m)

Nicole’s name is nearly as long as her career. Nicole Prescovia Valiente Scherzinger was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 29th, 1978. She is perhaps best known as the lead vocalist in the Pussycat Dolls.

Scherzinger spent her youth in Louisville, Kentucky, studying drama and attending Wright State University, which she left in 1999 to pursue her craft, singing back- up vocals for the band Days of the New and appeared on their second album.

In 2001, she was a contestant on the first season of WB’s reality show, Popstar, earning her a spot in the girl group Eden’s Crush as a vocalist. Their single that year, “Get Over Yourself” hit the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and their second single, “Love This Way” was recorded just prior to their record company, London-Sire Records closing. The band broke up not long after.

Scherzinger recorded a couple of singles, using the moniker Nicole Kea in 2003 but it wasn’t until May of that year when she joined the Pussycat Dolls burlesque group that things started to change for her. The group was trying to rebrand themselves to be recording artists and she was just what they needed. Their first singles, “Don’t Cha”, “Buttons” and “Stickwitu” were top 5 singles in the US and their album, PCD went double-platinum in 2006.

Scherzinger worked on her debut solo album from 2006 to 2008 but the album has yet to be released. She has released singles, like “Whatever U Like” and “Baby Love” but neither of them have been well received commercially or critically. There has been talk of other singles surfacing, but so far only as iTunes downloads. She does pop up periodically on British television.
