Diaz Misses 'Vegas' Premiere

Cameron Diaz missed Tuesday’s world premiere of ‘What Happens In Vegas’ in London on Tuesday to attend her father Emilio’s memorial service. Also at the service were exes Justin Timberlake and John Mayer.
Diaz’s ‘Vegas’ Co-star Ashton Kutcher told event reporters that Diaz is under “medical attention” and will not be able to do publicity for the film.
“I am desperately missing her tonight,” he said. “We made a present, and it’s like I have to open it alone -- and you want to open the present you want to share.... But she’ll be happy that’s she’s making people happy, and she’s great for the movie.”
Kutcher and Diaz play two strangers who wake up married after a night of Vegas debauchery. Just as they learn how much they detest each other, Kutcher wins a $3 million jackpot with Diaz’s quarter. A hardline divorce judge freezes the cash and sentences them to six months of marriage before granting an annulment. You can pretty much figure out where this is heading.
Diaz and Kutcher’s likable screen personas keep the film bubbling along to a satisfying conclusion, and since they’re both pretty easy on the eyes, it’s not a bad way to spend a couple of spare hours.
Diaz had already announced her plan to take a year off “getting to know myself” before her father’s sudden death. We wish her well.
