Longoria Starts ‘Heart’

Anyone who says Eva Longoria is a heartless publicity hound didn’t catch her Monday night at the Geffen Playhouse.

The Maxim-proclaimed “hottest woman in the world” and fellow ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Dana Delany heated up the Los Angeles premiere of ‘You Gotta Have Heart’ along with Holland Taylor, Brenda Strong, and Judy Gold. The one-night performance was designed to raise awareness about heart disease in women. Proceeds benefit education and research championed by Events of the Heart.

“Very few women know that heart disease is their number one health risk; killing more women than all cancers combined,” said EOH co- founders Carole Isenberg and Pamela Serure. “We are touring the country, using the arts to reach out to women and make them aware of this epidemic that is affecting 500,000 of them each year.”

Longoria put to rest any rumors about leaving the popular show that made her a star. Considering that her last film ‘Over Her Dead Body’ flatlined, I’d say she made the right choice. They don’t make defibrillators for careers.
