Here we go again. Another list. Just in time to compete with People’s 100 Most Beautiful, TV Guide released its list of Sexiest Stars on Thursday.
Noting the toppers, I don’t have a lot of confidence in TV Guide’s taste. Jennifer Love Hewitt is the sexiest woman on television? And Patrick Dempsey is the sexiest man? Compared to what, Cheez-Whiz? Talk about bland, mushy, and processed.
Perhaps they meant the Insipidest People? Sexy needs at least a bit of spice. The most irritating thing about the list is that there are some really hot stars ranked below these two schmegeggies.
Like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s’ own Justin Chambers who is twenty times sexier than Dempsey but less hyped. Dempsey is also ranked above Peter Krause and Jon Hamm. Are they nuts? And do the editors honestly think Hewitt is sexier than Mary-Louise Parker and Eva Longoria?
TV Guide also seems to think that it’s really sexy to have a name from a romance novel. The list is full of celebs with names like January Jones, Zachary Levi, Leighton Meester, and Hayden Panettiere. (I thought that last one was an Italian coffee cake.) And best of all: Chace Crawford. My bodice practically ripped itself on that one. I thought that kind of pretentious star-naming went out with the studio system.
Others who made the list include Yunjin Kim, Taye Diggs, Katee Sackhoff, Jared Padalecki, Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Wilde, Omar Epps, Vanessa Williams, Julianne Hough, Alex O'Loughlin, Ed Westwick, and Josh Holloway. The issue hits May 5.
