Us magazine reports that Jennie Garth is the first of the old ‘90210’ cast to move into the CW’s new zip code. She joins Anna Lynne McCord, Dustin Milligan, Lori Loughlin, and former ‘Degrassi’ star Shenae Grimes.
Hilary Duff was rumored to have been offered Grimes’ role, but turned it down in order to move beyond the teen genre. That’s probably a good choice considering that she’s moved beyond her teens herself.
I’m just wondering why producers feel the need to remake the series. Are we that strapped for original ideas? No one who’s a teen today has any memory at all of the original show. Young girls certainly don’t drool all over Jason Priestly and Luke Perry anymore. They’re alta cockers. They’re drooling all over themselves now.
You know who I want back on the show? Brenda -- Shannen Doherty. Put her in charge of the PTA and let’s watch her knock those soccer mom heads together. Now, that would be fun.
