I think Hollywood is taking the trendy thing too far. It’s one thing to drive a Prius and eat vegan because everyone else is. It’s quite another to get married.
Although it certainly is a good way to get some free publicity. Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon and Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz got a big push when they did it. So did Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi.
Perhaps that’s why the B List is jumping on the bandwagon. On Tuesday, Jessica Alba announced that she and Cash Warren, the father of her unborn child, married in a secret ceremony on Monday.
Star Trek’s George Takei also announced that he and longtime partner Brad Altman would be boldly going down the aisle this summer.
Soon the trend will trickles down to the C and D Lists, and eventually, even Dustin Diamond will find someone desperate enough to say “I do,” which is when the trend will come to a Screech-ing halt. Like the sex tape, people will no longer care, and the A List will have found something new.
