Miley Cyrus better watch that bare back of hers. Demi Lovato is hot on her heels.
Now that the ‘Hannah Montana’ star has shown a penchant for going topless and Jamie Lynn Spears seems to have taken Life Science as an elective at ‘Zoey 101,’ it looks like Disney is hedging its bets with a new teen queen.
The studio is throwing everything in the factory at Lovato and hoping something will stick. A recording contract. A new series. Even Miley’s ex-boyfriend.
Lovato will star in the Jonas Brothers’ new Disney TV movie ‘Camp Rock.’ She will also join the boys’ “Burning Up” tour this summer, providing ample opportunity to move in on Cyrus’ old stomping ground Nick Jonas. Miley’s new single “7 Things” is rumored to be about him.
Lovato doesn’t seem to enjoy the comparison.
“Miley is amazing and has built a hugely successful career, so I respect that,” said Lovato. “It's just that we're two totally different artists, and there's room for everyone to be themselves in this business. I'm just trying to be Demi right now!”
You know what? She’s right, now that I think about it. Demi isn’t like Miley at all. She’s much more of a Hilary Duff.
