People magazine reports that Nicole Kidman gave birth to her first child with husband Keith Urban on Monday morning in Nashville. The baby girl, Rose Kidman Urban, weighed 6 lbs., 7.5 oz. according to the couple’s spokesperson Paul Freundlich.
I would like to be the first to congratulate the couple. For picking a normal name. Almost pedestrian even. Thank you, Keith and Nicole, for having the foresight to save your child a lifetime of embarrassment.

UPDATE: It has since come to my attention that initial reports of the baby's name were incorrect. It is actually "Sunday Rose." Allegedly, she is named after turn-of-the-century Australian arts patron -- and household name -- Sunday Reed.
Okay, not completely whacko. Better than Wednesday, the apple of Gomez Addams' eye. But still. It's not going to win her any favors in the sandbox.
