Hotties

I like the frankness of the Hotties category. It’s not afraid to throw back the curtain and expose itself for what it is: A popularity contest.

And my-oh-my, what popular hotties they are. For sheer, sick, hotness, nothing beats Taylor Kitsch of ‘Friday Night Lights.’ Was there ever a more panty-twisting scene than Kitsch and co-star Kyle Chandler having a heart-to-heart in the rain? Who cares if the show is any good? Just put Kitsch in a wet tank for an hour. We’ll tune in.

Chris Brown is also achieving a certain level of hotness. His hit “No Air” with Jordin Sparks is all over the noms, but I think he may be outheated by the others. Like Chace Crawford, who’s emerged as the #1 ‘Gossip Girl’ heartthrob. Or Zac Efron, who’s going to get the hot nerd vote.

But all of this speculation is in vain. Because no one is going to beat the Jonas Brothers. They’ve stuffed all three boys into one nomination. Sure, they’re interchangeable, but it seems so unfair. They should have their own category, like “Hottest Jonas Brother.” These other hotties don’t have a chance.

The Hottie girls, on the other hand, are a little tougher to figure out. Their hotness is a bit more evenly distributed. Rhianna is topping the charts. Blake Lively and Hayden Panettiere are both on hit shows. Vanessa Hudgens has been riding the ‘High School Musical’ wave for years.

The only one who may have a slight edge is Megan Fox, whose hotness comes less from her acting career and more from her racy photos in FHM and Maxim. She, too, has a bit of that undie-bunching vibe. The kind that teen boys can’t get enough of. All other things being equal, the more skin you see, the hotter you are.
